OUT OF THE RUBBLE
ILLUMINATED POEMS SERIES
OUT OF THE RUBBLE
COLLAGE
OUT OF THE RUBBLE
OUT OF THE RUBBLE
Just out of reach
The rubble of the wall
Brought down in sorrow
Hiding the wailing child
The wall needed to be
‘Til safety lent its name
After enough of time
Opened the heart’s portal
A wall to hide behind
Becoming a trap
Until soul work completed
First opened a door
It began with the eye
Peering through the cracks
Then piece by piece
Dismantled with intention
Then learning the steps
To trust and slowly
Emerging from the shadow
Hands and heart inclined
The work of taking it apart
To examine every stone
A way to rebuild the psyche
And discover other hidden selves
Finally seen and recognized
Ready to embrace
That newborn child
Quieting the wailing with love

JOURNEYING
JOURNEYING
The path to the foot of the hill
Winds past the forest
Sun shining amid the branches
Past the ocean sand
Then leads to the top
And She is waiting there
So many guises
Seated on a stone
Her temple surrounded
A grove of Eucalyptus fragrant
Tall and swaying in the wind
Their glowing seeds rising
Fringed wings of delight
And She is waiting there
Smiling above the hidden cavern
Walls of crystal
In the heart of the hill
Sacred pool
Hidden grove of flowers
Altar for the shadow
Waiting in the depths
For the creation of a new beginning
Allies waiting for me
And She is waiting there

ANOTHER POEM FOR WHITE WOLF
ANOTHER POEM FOR WHITE WOLF
White Wolf stands beside me
Know you
That death is a portal
Taken to the realms
Walk into them
With both eyes open
Raven at your shoulder
Know you
That the realms
Are all present
Each vibrating in elemental joy
Though you may only see one
As if it were a solid reality
Know you
That the song of your cells
Accompanies all acts of purpose
Health, wealth and happiness
Found in each present moment
Embodied spirit waking here
White Wolf stands beside me

ANCESTOR'S SONG
ANCESTOR'S SONG
They’ve passed
The presence of body
No longer a part of
An experience I can hold
Touch
They’ve become
An essence of trees
Nestled in the stones
Singing in the stars
Shaped
As water slips
Around the curves
That define space
While time has freed them
Alone
I wrestle with absence
Poking at it
Like a hole
Where a tooth has been
Joined
To their meaning
As life carries me forward
To the juncture
Where death will welcome me
Embracing
Each solitary minute
Defined by their absence
Singing in my blood
Like a welcoming song

MORRIGHAN
MORRIGHAN
She waits for me
Long black feathers
Glistening in imagination
Beckoning with fierce intention
From the vision of her face
She waits for me
Beaked battle crow
Raven and harbinger
Daring me to redefine
Her gifts of conflict
She waits for me
Spiritual warrior and Muse
Her visage half obscured
Shadow deepening the mystery
As she watches without malice
She waits for me
To learn the steps
Dauntless in creativity
Leaping past the barriers
That only exist in my mind
She waits for me
Her questions answered
With canvas, paint and brush
Courage to make a mark
Beyond the fear of defeat

EMERGING IN WINTER'S SHADOW
EMERGING IN WINTER'S SHADOW
Winter’s face emerges from my dreams
Pointing to the lessons of source
Calling me
Calling me
Calling me back to the interior
Setting my focus with visions
Gentle and insistent demands
Pull me away from daily tasks
To long hours alone in half sleep
My soul dancing with my animal intent
Some likeness to hibernation
But thick with unconscious knowledge
breaking free when brush touches paint
reprimanding my fears
that inform me of my difference
“Yes” she whispers, “Remember”
“You were meant to follow only your path”
“And I am here to guide you!”

SEERESS
SEERESS
To be a Seeress
One must cultivate with care
Envisioning expanded horizons
Rooting down into desire
Allowing every sense
To engage with dreams
Feeling into visions
Til sight becomes sensate
Til touch brings orgasm
Moans the gift of hearing
Filling the air with laughter
And sweet musky scents of sex
The taste of pleasure
Allowing the act of seeing
From the seat of soul
Resting in the heart of spirit
Daily life informed with knowing
Every moment fulfilled
Walking in the woods
Being loved and cherished
Finding true purpose
Bringing the gift of sight
Into daily focus
To share with all the world
Claiming
Out loud
The Seeress
Within

MUSE OF THE LIGHTBULB
MUSE OF THE LIGHTBULB
A filament of invention
Held high to entice the Muse
Set in the center of a small glass globe
Powered by a longing for more light
Than wax and wick burning
Could provide in the dark night of the soul
This incandescent hearth light
Imagination made manifest
Rendered city streets comprehensible
Frisson and the heat of vision
Undaunted by impossibility
To rival the brilliance of a summer’s day
She whispered in his ear
Dulcet secrets of invention
Til who could tell which came first
His staunch and intrepid determination
